Search Tutorial
Graphical Search - Example 2
This second example demonstrates an advanced graphical search in which gene expression
is defined for two different regions. In this example, a search is performed for genes that are expressed in
the region of the cortical barrelfield to a greater extent than nearby cortical regions.
|
Step 1 of 4
Section 2 is selected for the search because it contains the region of interest.
|
Step 2 of 4
The advanced search is selected.
|
Step 3 of 4
Two regions are defined: 1) the cortical barrelfield, and 2) a nearby cortical region.
The cortical barrelfield is defined as the first region by highlighting the appropriate quadrilaterals
in the cortex.
Next, the second region radio button is selected, and then the
quadrilaterals of a nearby cortical region are highlighted to define the second region.
|
Step 4 of 4
The expression query pattern is chosen for each region. The strong radio button is selected as the expression for
the first region.
Next, the second region radio button is selected, and then the not detected
radio button is selected as the expression for the second region.
After clicking on Search, the top matches are displayed.
